Lawn Solutions certifies only the best grass varieties and growers. Each variety will suit different customers' needs.

Sir Walter Buffalo is a great all-rounder and has a lush, soft and thick leaf that grows upward. It's very shade, wear and drought tolerant.

TifTuf has a finer leaf and grows flat so it can be mowed lower. It has extremely low water requirements and is tough. But it needs more sun than Sir Walter or Sir Grange.

Sir Grange is very fine-leaved and velvety in appearance. It grows slowly so it doesn't need much mowing. It's very good in dry conditions and handles shade well. 

Eureka Kikuyu is very economical, but it does best in a sunny position, and it can require more mowing than the others.

There will be a delivery fee per order that is fixed, no matter the turf quantity. It will depend on how far from the turf farm area you live, but typically our deliveries start at $88.

Fertilisers do help with growth, but how much you apply and when you should apply it, depends on the turf variety.

Grasses like DNA Certified Sir Walter, TifTuf Couch, and Kikuyu benefit from a seasonal application of a complete fertilizer with a balanced NPK ratio.

For optimal results, use products like Lawn Solutions Premium Lawn Fertiliser at the beginning of Spring, Summer, and Autumn to keep your lawn active and vibrant.

Lawn Starter fertilizer is ideal for late March application as it enhances root development and supports the plant through winter, promoting overall health and resilience.

1. Water

Ensure your lawn gets adequate water in the hotter months by watering deeply but infrequently, aiming for somewhere between 20 to 40 minutes per week (best results when completed in 20 minute intervals).

2. Tackle Weeds

Eliminate weeds to boost lawn health. Use herbicides for tough weeds, but be cautious with non-selective options to avoid harming your lawn.

3. De-thatch

Remove any thatch buildup with a metal rake to improve water and air penetration to the roots.

4. Aerate

Combat soil compaction by aerating the lawn with an aerator or garden fork, promoting better nutrient absorption and root growth.

5. Top Dress

A few weeks after applying fertiliser, you can add a thin layer of top dressing (soil) in late spring to aid in minimizing the buildup of dead grass clippings and stems, known as 'thatch'.  It also enhances nutrient retention, drainage, and resilience against diseases and pests.

6. Fertilise Wisely

Choose quality fertilisers and apply 2-3 times a year to nourish the lawn effectively. Always prioritise safety and store products safely away from children, pets and direct sunlight.
